Emerson Elementary School

Science Olympiad

Registration for  the 9th Annual Science Olympiad, being held on Tuesday March 5th, is now open!
Use the online form to register and volunteer to help (you will need to complete one registration form per student).

What is the Science Olympiad (SO)?
Throughout the evening, teams of 4 to 5 students grouped by grade (K/1, 2/3, 4/5) are guided by parent volunteers through a series of 3 - 30 minute, hands-on experiments that are fun, easy and designed to spark the imagination, promote teamwork and instill an interest in science.  Close to 100 parent volunteers will be needed to lead the teams or to help run the experiments. Please consider volunteering! no specific background is needed - just a desire to have fun.

This is not a science fair…students do not need to research or present a science experiment.  There is no cost to participate.  View all the experiments here.

Who can Participate?
The SO is open to ALL Emerson students – K through 5th Grade.  Please note…THIS IS A DROP-OFF EVENT…the only parents that should stay are those who have volunteered to run/help with an experiment or lead a team.

When is the SO?

The Science Olympiad will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, March 5th, 2019. (Wednesday, March 6th is a late arrival day).
