PTA Fair Share

Be sure to submit your Fair Share and PTA dues. These funds make up a majority of our operating budget and support great programs like Science Olympiad, Chess Club, Assemblies, Running Club, Rec Nights and so many more.

There are a couple of ways to pay your Fair Share. You can pay online here (there is a small convenience fee for the online transaction) or you can download the paper form and return it to school with your child. 

Emerson Happenings


The following positions are open for the 2018 - 2019 school year:


  • LRC Coordinator - The Chair will volunteer his or her time to help shelve books in the library there is not set schedule  the library appreciates any time you can give! You will also be asked at times to send out a group email to the committee members who signed up to help in the library asking if they have time to stop in and shelve books.
  • Teacher Appreciation Committee - The Committee Chair(s) will plan meals for teachers along with committee members for parent teacher conferences in November. Typically one dinner and one lunch is planned during this time.  You will also coordinate along with your other committee members Teacher Appreciation Week meals and or other activities which is in early May.
  • Yearbook - The committee chairs will coordinate yearbook committee members to take pictures of different events being held at the school as well as some off site events like band and orchestra nights. You and your committee members will also work closely with the Yearbook Club which is made up of 5th grade students who participate in the design and production of our school yearbook. You do not need any prior experience or need to have a 5th grade student to help chair this committee.
  • School Supply Boxes - Gather school supply lists from school secretary usually before Spring break. Work with school supply company to input supply lists and set up sale date of supplies which is usually late April.   Send communications to PTA for email blast about the sale of kits. Coordinate the supply kit delivery with company and office about a week before school starts and contact committee members in August to help unpack and distribute the boxes to students classrooms.  
  • PTA Council Scholarship Fundraising Coordinator-This role entails getting email communication to the school’s PTA newsletter highlighting events (2 fundraisers and the Fannie May candy sale), distributing Fannie May candy sale catalogues to the school (1 per family), and reading and scoring York seniors’ applications for the PTA Council scholarship (open to all college bound York seniors). All of the above jobs can be done on your own time in the time frame given and can flexibly work into your schedule. You are not required to be at the fundraisers.



The 2nd Annual Emerson School Talent Showcase will return on Friday, February 23, 2018.  




Thursday, December 14, 2017 - 4:30pm - 6:00pm:  Kick-Off Meeting in the school gym.  Students are required to perform a sample of their act. NEW THIS YEAR:  Family acts are welcome.  If students wish to have their parent(s) perform on stage with them, this year they can! Attendance is mandatory.  Students will be allowed to leave after they show the sample of their act.  


Thursday, February 22, 2018 - 4:30pm - 6:00pm:  Dress Rehearsal in the school gym.  Attendance is mandatory and students are required to stay the entire time.


Friday, February 23, 2018 - Talent Showcase - Call time & Show time TBD 


Anyone interested in participating must turn in an Entry Form by Tuesday, December 12, 2017
